By downloading or using PDF Toolkit India you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. The App
PDF Toolkit India ("the App") by SyntheticCode ("we", "us") provides tools to compress, merge, split, convert, sign, password-protect and mask PDF documents, and to format photos and signatures for PAN applications. All processing happens on your device, as described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Free and Pro Plans
- The free version includes daily and size limits and shows ads.
- Pro plans (monthly subscriptions or a one-time Lifetime purchase) remove these limits, unlock Pro tools and remove ads. Current prices are shown in the App and on Google Play before you pay, in your local currency.
- Features and limits of each plan may change over time. Changes will not reduce what you already paid for during the current billing period.
3. Subscriptions, Billing and Refunds
- All payments are processed by Google Play and are subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
- You can cancel anytime in the Google Play Store app: Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. After cancelling, Pro stays active until the end of the paid period.
- Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policy. You can also email us and we will help where we can.
- Use Settings → Restore purchases in the App to restore Pro on a new phone signed in with the same Google account.
4. Your Files and Responsibilities
- You keep all rights to your documents. We do not receive, store or claim any rights to them.
- Only use the App with documents you own or are authorised to handle. Do not use it to forge, alter or misuse identity documents, signatures or official records, or for any unlawful purpose.
- Keep backups of important files. Always check the output (for example compressed, masked or signed PDFs) before relying on or sharing it.
- If you forget a password you set with Protect PDF, the file cannot be recovered by us or by the App.
5. Aadhaar Masking and PAN Formatter
- Aadhaar masking hides the first 8 digits of Aadhaar numbers (and the first 12 digits of VIDs) that the App detects. Detection is automatic and may not be perfect on every document — please check the masked file before sharing it. For an official masked Aadhaar you can also download one from UIDAI.
- The PAN Formatter prepares images to commonly published size limits. Portal requirements can change; always check the current requirements on the official portal before uploading.
- These tools are conveniences only. The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to UIDAI, the Income Tax Department, Protean (NSDL) or UTIITSL.
6. E-Sign
The E-Sign tool places an image of your handwritten signature on a PDF. It is not a digital signature certificate (DSC), Aadhaar eSign, or an electronic signature under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and may not be accepted where such a signature is legally required.
7. Acceptable Use
You must not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the App, bypass its limits or purchase checks, or interfere with its advertising.
8. Intellectual Property
The App, its design, text, graphics and code belong to SyntheticCode or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the Google Play Terms of Service.
9. Third-Party Services
The App uses services from Google (Play Billing, AdMob, ML Kit, Firebase) and RevenueCat. Their own terms and policies apply to those services. Ads are provided by Google; we are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or websites.
10. Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that its output will meet any particular requirement.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SyntheticCode is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data or documents, arising from use of the App. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end access to Pro features if these Terms are breached, subject to Google Play's policies.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when the App changes. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable consumer protection laws, disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Jaipur, Rajasthan.
